Is this actually ok for a total beginner? I have never finished a crochet project.

Yes — it is marked Beginner+ and the kit video walks through every round. Most first-timers finish in a few short sessions. If you can hold a hook and do a basic stitch, you can do this.

Left it on my desk half-finished for a week, still came together fine when I picked it back up.

Does the Material Kit include stuffing or do I need to buy polyfill separately?

The Material Kit includes enough polyester stuffing for this Border collie. You should not need extra unless you prefer very firm packing.

Most makers spend about 4–8 hours total, often split across a few evenings. The video lets you pause between sections so you do not have to do it in one sitting.
I’m very visual, so being able to pause the video and check the PDF at the same time made a huge difference. I worked on it over a few evenings instead of trying to rush.

The PDF looked like another language to me at first. I had to rely on the video for almost everything.
