Capybara

(7 customer reviews)

Crochet the calmest little member of your animal collection.

With its warm tan body, rounded ears, big brown muzzle, glossy eyes, rosy cheeks, dark paws, and relaxed sitting pose, this little Capybara has the peaceful expression that makes the real animal so lovable.

Its simple shape makes the small details especially important. You’ll build the rounded head and body, shape the muzzle and paws, add the ears, and carefully position the face until your Capybara gets that unmistakably calm personality.

Along the way, you’ll practice smooth shaping, stuffing control, symmetry, assembly, color contrast, and facial placement.

Follow our step-by-step tutorials and printable PDF pattern at your own pace.

Keep it on your desk, gift it to a Capybara fan, or add a little calm to your crochet collection.

Slow vibes. Soft stitches. Serious cuteness.

Is this actually ok for a total beginner? I have never finished a crochet project.

Yes — it is marked Beginner+ and the kit video walks through every round. Most first-timers finish in a few short sessions. If you can hold a hook and do a basic stitch, you can do this.

Beginner here — I rewound the head section once and still finished the same weekend.

Is the finished capybara more round or oval shaped?

It sits fairly round and low — more potato-shaped than tall. Great for shelf display or a kid to carry around.

Lost count once on the body. Still came out chubby and cute.

He’s just… sitting there judging my work. Soft yarn, easy face. Love him

Two clean crosses is enough. Pull yarn through a few times so it sits flat, then hide the tail.
